The invention provides a device for calculating the remaining capacity of a battery. Taking regard of the self-discharge difference due to the temperature difference between different battery monomers in a storage battery, the remaining capacity of the battery can be measured more accurately. The device for calculating the remaining capacity of a battery comprises a high-temperature sensor arranged at a high-temperature position inside a storage battery and a low-temperature sensor arranged at a low-temperature position inside the storage battery. Therefore, a value obtained by subtracting the minimum self-discharge amount derived from the output of the low-temperature sensor from the maximum self-discharge amount derived from the output of the high-temperature sensor is calculated as the capacity deviation valve of the storage battery. The capacity deviation reduction is obtained by the accumulation of the current capacity deviation valve and the last capacity deviation valve and is adopted as a subtraction factor subtracted from the full charging capacity of the battery. Based on the outputs of the two temperature sensors and the valve of the charging rate of the storage battery, the self-discharge map of the current capacity deviation valve is derived. |
