The assembly (BA) has an electromechanical actuator (A) provided with a downstream mechanical drive gear unit (HDG). A coupling device (K) is rotated at a rotational axis (32). A mechanically actuated gear unit (KTG) and a mechanical drive gear unit (EG) are formed as non-linear gear boxes. The gear boxes are coordinated such that the actuated gear unit maintains a preset stroke value to generate constant application force against a reaction force (F-Reak) over preset rotation angle regions with a constant portion of application force that is applied by drive torque. An independent claim is also included for an electromechanical brake.
