The method involves partially removing a coupling sleeve (4) present at a fluid container by drilling or milling at an inner contour region (5) of the sleeve, so that a sleeve scrap is obtained. A sleeve conversion part (8) is inserted at the inner contour region for attaching at the sleeve scrap by a sleeve internal thread (9). A firmly bonded connection is formed between the conversion part and the sleeve scrap by a circulating weld seam (S) in a contact region of the conversion part and the sleeve scrap. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a sleeve conversion part (2) a fluid container.
