Method for evaluating signals of a sensor unit and device for environmental detection in a vehicle

The method involves transmitting ultrasound signals in a region to be monitored, and receiving echo signals (ULS) in response to the transmitted ultrasound signals. The echo signals are evaluated for detecting objects and/or object motion in the region. The received echo signals are subjected for evaluating quadrature phase detection. Reference signals (S1-S4) required for the quadrature phase detection are produced using digital logic links (12-18) from a digital base signal (S0). The reference signals are phase-shifted around 90 degrees and mixed with the received echo signals. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for environmental detection in a vehicle (2) a data processing program comprising program code to perform a method for evaluating signals of a sensor unit (3) a computer program product comprising program code stored in a computer-readable medium to perform a method for evaluating signals of a sensor unit.
