PURPOSE: A layered hybrid armor material for an armored vehicle is provided to protect an armored vehicle from a shaped charge warhead or a machine gun by inducing a gradual reduction of impact energy. CONSTITUTION: A layered hybrid armor material for an armored vehicle comprises a carbon nano-tubes-reinforced-ceramic layer(100), a CNTRPCP(Carbon Nano-tubes-Reinforced-Polycarbonate-Polymer) layer(200), a CNTRPUP(Carbon Nano-tubes-Reinforced-Polyurethane-Polymer) layer(300), and a spall liner layer(400). A carbon nano-tube strengthening ceramic layer is formed with hot-pressed carbon nano-tube strengthening ceramic materials. The CNTRPCP layer comprises a CNTRPCP welded by an adhesive in the underside of the carbon nano-tube strengthening ceramic layer. The spall liner layer is welded by an adhesive in the underside of the CNTRPUP layer. The spall liner layer absorbs an impact, thereby preventing a spalling and scabbing. |
