A paving machine has a vertically vibrated packing blade 9 and a vibrating beam 15 acting in a substantially horizontal plane. The blade 9 is oscillated by a variable throw eccentric 12 the shaft of which is adjustable for height by cam and lever means 13. A front plate 10 is angularly adjustable to suit the material to be packed. The vibrations of the packing blade and beam are relatively adjustable and powered by an hydraulic motor supplied from the main driving engine of the machine. The machine has a front hopper, with adjustable hinged sides, leading to two belt conveyers supplying a transverse feed screw. The blade and beam carrying frame is adjustable for height and camber and the beam may be heated. |
