Apparatus for detecting leakages in cooling coil systems on an electric furnace comprises a light source 10 aligned with a photoelectric cell - 11, a plurality of buckets 12 formed with holes 13 and suspended from pivoted arms 15 with counterweights 17 and pipes 20 supplying water from each coil system to a bucket so that when a coil system fails the appropriate bucket empties, overbalancing its arm 15 into the light source line and thus operating a relay to trip main main circuit breaker in the furnace supply line. The buckets 12 . are disposed over a draining tank 19 and the holes 13 are disposed in their bases and side walls.</p> |
