DETOXIFICATION METHOD OF ASBESTOS USING WASTE ACID

PURPOSE: A detoxification method of asbestos using waste acid is provided to cheaply and efficiently detoxify asbestos with low energy and to recycle acidic materials such as waste sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION: A detoxification method of asbestos comprises: a step of dipping 300-700 g of asbestos in 1 L of 0.5-5 N acid solution including sulfuric acid, nitric acid, or hydrochloric acid(S20); and a step of heating the acid solution at 100-400 deg. C and reacting with asbestos(S30). The acid solution is selected among waste sulfuric acid, waste nitric acid, or waste hydrochloric acid. The particle size of the asbestos in the dipping step is 0.01-5 mm. The reaction solution is stirred at a speed of 100-300 rpm in the reaction step when the particle size of the asbestos is 2-5 mm.
