PURPOSE: A system for providing a CPNS(Converged Personal Network Service) and a method thereof are provided to effectively connect to applications through a network by connecting the applications from each other through a PNE(Personal Network Entity) module. CONSTITUTION: A CPNS(Converged Personal Network Service) terminal(100,200) requests personal network setup with an opponent terminal to a PN(Personal Network) gateway through a PNE module by including the PNE module comprising a PN through local area communication. A PN gateway(300) forms a personal network with the CPNS terminal, connects to a CPNS device(400) through an external network, and relays data communication between the CPNS device and the CPNS terminals. The CPNS device transmits data to the CPNS terminal through the PN gateway by searching the stored personal network information.
