PURPOSE: A device for performing a random access process in a multi-component carrier system and a method thereof are provided to terminate the random access process in a serving cell and to transmit a commander commanding the start of the random access process in another serving cell. CONSTITUTION: A random access processing unit(1910) performs a first random access process in a first serving cell. A terminal receiving unit(1905) receives a random access start commander from a base station. The random access start commander commands the start of a second random access process in a second serving cell. A terminal transmitting unit(1915) transmits a preamble for the second random access process to the base station. The random access processing unit terminates the first random access process based on the random access start commander.
