PURPOSE: A smoke-proof member for molten magnesium is provided to minimize a gap among smoke-proof members by floating the various sizes of the smoke-proof members on the molten magnesium, thereby perfectly and physically blocking the contact between the molten magnesium and the air. CONSTITUTION: A smoke-proof member(100) for a molten magnesium floats on the surface of the molten magnesium so that the smoke-proof member(100) is applied to block a contact between the molten magnesium and the air. The smoke-proof member(100) includes at least one material selected from a group of graphite, steel and a metallic oxide. The density of the smoke-proof member(100) is less than that of the molten magnesium. The smoke-proof member(100) includes a body part(10) and a cap part(12). The body part(10) is manufactured with a material, and both ends thereof are open. The cap part(12) is manufactured with a refractory material, and seals the body part(10) by covering both ends. The diameter of the body part(10) is 10 to 20 millimeters. The smoke-proof member(100) is manufactured into a hollow ball when the material includes the metallic oxide. |
