PURPOSE: A multimedia system and a vehicular antitheft method thereof are provided to block the driving of a stolen vehicle for preventing the abuse of the stolen vehicle for a crime and to enhance the reception and detection rate of the stolen vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A multimedia system(200) comprises a network module, a broadcasting reception module, and a control module. The network module is connected with a BCM(Body Control Module)(100) for storing the generic number of a vehicle through a vehicle network. The broadcasting reception module receives a traffic broadcasting system which includes the generic number of a stolen vehicle. The control module gives an alarm with the determination of the stolen vehicle and requests the operation pause of the vehicle to the BCM through the network module.
