PURPOSE: An optical axis measuring apparatus and a measuring method of an eyeball are provided to confirm a recognition angle range that the eyeball of an eye-testee can recognize by irradiating the light of a visible light area in the eyeball of the eye-testee, thereby measure the optical axis of the eyeball simply with a low cost. CONSTITUTION: A light source(11) irradiates the light in an eyeball of an eye-testee. A rotating member(26) supports a light source supporting member. A rotation-guiding member(36) supports the rotating member in order to be able to rotate. A distance measuring apparatus measures an advance and retreat distance of the light source supporting member. An angle measuring apparatus measures a rotation angle of the rotating member. A left-right moving apparatus(39) moves the rotation-guiding member in a left and right direction, in a straight line. A lifting apparatus(46) raises the left-right moving apparatus. A controlling apparatus controls an overall operation of the optical axis measuring apparatus.
