The grenade (1) has a lighter (2) associated with a detonator (3) that disperses a payload (4) for maintenance of law and order. The payload comprises elongated containers (6, 7) containing lachrymating gas, where one of the containers is breakable during the explosion of the detonator to release the lachrymating gas. The containers are regularly distributed around the detonator, where each container is extended parallel to an axis of the detonator. Each container has a hollow body (8) whose ends are sealed by stoppers (9, 10).
