The device has supports (1) formed in shape of a beam (10) comprising base plates (2, 3) separated by a span (10a). Each base plate is secured with a side wall of a body (100) of an armored vehicle in the vicinity of one of edges (90, 91) of the wall. The beam includes a bearing surface (5) at the span, and a ballistic overprotection plate (200) is fixed on the bearing surface. The span is placed remote from the wall of the vehicle. The span of the beam has shape of arch directed toward the body. Ends of the arch are placed in the vicinity of the base plates.
