The object i.e. cup (A) has a non-planar surface (1) including a representation of a two-dimensional code (50). The representation includes a projection that is read in a given direction of reading by a reading system having a reading device and a decoding software based on a standard specific to the code, where the two-dimensional code is selected from one of quick response (QR) code(RTM: two-dimensional bar code), Micro QR code, Data matrix code, Maxi code, Aztec, and portable document format 417. The non-planar surface is one of a regulated surface, a developable surface or a conical surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an object.
