PURPOSE: A torque controlling method and apparatus is provided to prevent the output of an abnormal output an abnormal torque from each controller by wrong orders. CONSTITUTION: A torque controlling method for hybrid vehicles comprises a step of calculating a target torque; a step of dividing the target torque to an engine order torques and a plurality of motor order torques and distributing the same into the engine controllers; a step of calculating an engine copy torque; a step of comparing the engine copy torque and the engine order torque; a step of detecting the engine order torque and determining a final output torque; a step of calculating the motor copy torque for a hybrid controller; a step of comparing the motor copy torque and a motor order torque; and a step of determining a final motor output torque according to the comparison result of the motor copy torque and the motor order torque.
