Disclosed are imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine derivative compounds represented by structural formula (C), wherein the variables shown in formula (C) are as defined in the specification. Also disclosed is the use of the compound to treat viral infections such as the hepatitis-C virus, or an infection from a virus belonging to the family of the Flaviviridae or the Picomaviridae or a viral infection from a Coxsackie virus or Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus.
