PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems of a snubber circuit in the bidirectional switch of a conventional 3-level conversion circuit that since a voltage clamp snubber is not applicable, the snubber loss increases, and since a large number of switch elements are required for configuring a snubber, the power converter becomes large and the conversion efficiency is reduced.
SOLUTION: A bidirectional switch consists of a parallel circuit of a first semiconductor switch series circuit where first and second semiconductor switches, each formed of anti-parallel connection of diodes, are connected in series, and a second semiconductor switch series circuit where third and fourth semiconductor switches, each formed of anti-parallel connection of diodes, are connected in series. A voltage clamp snubber for clamping the voltage across a semiconductor switch element to the DC power supply voltage is connected in parallel with the first and second semiconductor switches or the third and fourth semiconductor switches.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
