<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for acquiring subject information capable of reducing unnecessary signals and obtaining an image with few artifacts even in a photoacoustic imaging difficult in predicting a place where an acoustic wave is generated and a place of multiple reflection thereof in advance, and to provide a method for acquiring the subject information. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for acquiring subject information includes a detecting unit for detecting the acoustic wave generated from a subject by irradiating the subject with light from a light source and a signal processing unit for acquiring image information on the subject based on the detected signal. The light includes a first light and a second light having a different wavelength from the first light and the signal processing unit calculates the difference between a first data obtained by irradiation of the first light and a second data obtained by irradiation of the second light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
