PHENOL RESIN, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND USE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new phenol resin useful as an epoxy curing agent, a method for producing the phenol resin, and use of the phenol resin.

SOLUTION: The phenol resin represented by formula (1) and an epoxy resin composition that contains the phenol resin as an epoxy resin curing agent are provided (wherein, R1, R2 and R3 are each independently H, a 1-10C alkyl group, a 1-10C aryl group or a hydroxyl group; n and q are each independently an integer of 0-4; p is independently an integer of 0-3; X is an alkylene group that may contain a substituent; and m is an integer of 0-30).
