<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle traveling control device that secures traveling safety when a driver performs inattentive driving while enabling smooth road traffic promotion. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle traveling control device includes: an inattentive state determination means 30a that determines the inattentive state of the driver from the face orientation of the driver of the own vehicle; a preceding vehicle detection means 31 that detects the information of a preceding vehicle that precedes the own vehicle; a traveling control means 10 that controls the output of the traveling drive source of the own vehicle corresponding to the acceleration and deceleration request of the driver; and a rear-end collision determination means 30 that determines the rear-end collision possibility of own vehicle to the preceding vehicle from the detection information of the preceding vehicle detection means 31.
