The lighting device (10) comprises semiconductor element such as LED (12) for emitting light in a wavelength range which is visible to human eye or in wavelength range which is invisible to human eye. The resistive element (14,20) such as ohmic resistor and diode with positive temperature characteristic is electrically connected with semiconductor element in series through thermal coupling (18) and electrical connection (16).
