<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality improver for food that prevents the formation of specks in farina food. <P>SOLUTION: A speck formation restraining formulation for farina food contains at least one kind selected from a group consisting of a defatted rice bran extract and a roasted rice bran extract. A method for restraining the formation of specks in farina food is provided, and the method includes a process for adding the formulation into raw farina.
