摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that power consumed when focus detection is carried out is significant. <P>SOLUTION: A focus detection device is employed. This device comprises: a pair of sensor blocks including sensor parts for photo-electrically converting incident light and detection parts; and a power supply part for supplying power to each detection part. One of the pair of sensor blocks operates as a first mode and the other operates as a second mode. The detection part of the sensor block that operates as the first mode detects that the output of the sensor part has reached a predetermined value. The sensor part of the sensor block that operates as the second mode accumulates charges generated by photo-electric conversion. Charge accumulation is terminated according the detection. The power supply part stops the supply of power to the detection part of the sensor block that operates as the second mode in at least one part of the period for which the sensor block operates as the second mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
