<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which enables the airtightness between an outer sealing member and a battery case to be inspected easily and reliably. <P>SOLUTION: A battery 100 includes: a battery case 110 having a through hole 170; an electrode body 120; an inner sealing member 183 hermetically sealing the through hole 170 from the exterior; and an outer sealing member 181 hermetically and annularly fastened to the battery case 110 while covering the inner sealing member 183 from the exterior. An internal gas GS1 in a sealing space KC formed between the inner sealing member 183 and the like contains a detectable gas which is distinguished from a gas component in atmospheric air and is detected when leaked to the exterior of the battery.
