<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stiffening method of an existing brace frame, capable of stiffening the existing brace frame easily and at a low cost, and a stiffening brace structure. <P>SOLUTION: The stiffening method of an existing brace frame for which a pair of shape steel materials 14 and 14 are joined by a bolt in the state of holding a gusset plate 20 therebetween includes: a detaching step of detaching the pair of shape steel materials 14 and 14 from the gusset plate 20; a unit forming step of inserting the pair of shape steel materials 14 and 14 detached from the gusset plate 20 into a pipe material 11, and forming a brace unit 10 for which the respective shape steel materials 14 and 14 are core materials 12 and 12; a unit attaching step of attaching the brace unit 10 to the gusset plate 20 by holding the gusset plate 20 by the pair of core materials 12 and 12 and joining the pair of core materials 12 and 12 to the gusset plate 20 by a bolt; and a filling step of filling a filler 13 inside the pipe material 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
