Disclosed are methods and agents for preventing, diagnosing, treating and predicting diseases associated with bacterial infection. In particular, the present invention discloses the use of LCCL-RAAIH (R3H) domain-containing cysteine-rich secretary protein 2 or the encoding gene thereof in the manufacture of drugs for preventing, treating diseases associated with general bacterial infection, and the present invention also discloses the use of agents specifically recognizing said protein or gene in the manufacture of kits for diagnosing or predicting related diseases.
