<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide titanium oxide-containing borosilicate glass without using an arsenic compound and an antimony compound as a refining agent during manufacturing. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the titanium oxide-containing borosilicate glass which is manufactured without using the arsenic compound and the antimony compound. There is also provided an environment-friendly refining method which includes a step for using an oxygen-containing selenium compound as a refining agent. Since the glass has a favorable transmittance value in the infrared range and does not show obstructive discoloration, it is especially suitable for manufacturing an IR photoconductor, cover glass for an optical sensor and a UV filter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
