<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic composite that does not cause variation in chromaticity, can subject blue light to wavelength conversion uniformly to obtain white or colored LED that emits light stably, and is prevented from causing variation in light emission distribution. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic composite comprises: a matrix phase 2 consisting of Al<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>; a main fluorescent body phase 3 formed in the matrix phase 2 and consisting of a substance expressed by general formula of A<SB POS="POST">3</SB>B<SB POS="POST">5</SB>O<SB POS="POST">12</SB>:Ce, wherein A is at least one selected from Y, Gd, Tb, Yb, and Lu, and B is at least one selected from Al, Ga and Sc; and a CeAl<SB POS="POST">11</SB>O<SB POS="POST">18</SB>phase 4 that exists together with the matrix phase 2 and the main fluorescent body phase 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
