<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for arranging sails of an engine sailing trading ship and an engine sailing trading ship, ensuring the sufficient view from a monitoring place in a bridge while increasing an area of the sail as large as possible, and thereby to enhance an energy saving effect by increase in the area of the sail and improve safety, in the ship having a main engine, a propulsion device driven by the main engine, and the sails that are arranged on a deck. <P>SOLUTION: The engine sailing trading ship includes the main engine, the propulsion device driven by the main engine, and the sails 10 arranged on the deck 2. In a planner view, the sails 10 opened in a ship width direction are arranged to be in a single or a plurality of sector form(s) 20 which is/are drawn with a point of view Pc at its center, of the monitoring place in the bridge 3.
