<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling instrument which can be continuously used with its cooling effect maintained. <P>SOLUTION: In cooling mat 1, there included are cooling agents 20. Each of the cooling agents 20 is formed of polyethylene glycol whose melting temperature is within a range of 27 to 32°C. By this construction, when a human body makes contact with it, its temperature exceeds the melting temperature in response to the body temperature and changes in phase from solid phase to liquid phase while drawing heat for fusion necessary for changing in phase from the human body. In this manner, it cools the contact portion with the human body by the heat for fusion drawn for the phase-change. Also, when the human body separates from it, its temperature becomes lower than the melting temperature in response to the ambient temperature and it returns to its original state by changing in phase from liquid phase to solid phase. In this manner, since the cooling agents 20 change in phase from the solid phase to liquid phase in response to the body temperature and change in phase from liquid phase to solid phase in response to the ambient temperature, in an alternately repeated manner, it can be continuously used with its cooling effect maintained while sleeping, i.e. during one consecutive behavior process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
