PORTABLE TELEPHONE, COMMUNICATION CONNECTION CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM

[Problem] To implement a roaming connection in which communication fees are kept under control domestically and internationally. [Solution] A portable telephone comprises a communication unit (10) which is used in domestic and international communication. When power is switched on in the portable telephone, an acquisition means (11) acquires information of a communications company with which connection is possible when connecting with a base station. A determination means (12) determines whether the acquired communication company information is a communication company with which flat-rate data communication is possible. If it is determined that flat-rate data communication is possible with the communication company, a connection control means (13) connects with the communication unit (10) to the communication company which is denoted with the acquired communication company information and allows data communication. If it is determined that flat-rate communication is not possible with the communication company, the connection control means (13) connects with the communication unit (10) to the communication company which is denoted with the acquired communication company information and disallows data communication.
