POLYESTER FIBER HAVING ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTY AND ANTIFUNGAL PROPERTY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber that has a sufficient antibacterial property and a sufficient antifungal property and is excellent in endurance of an antifungal performance.

SOLUTION: The polyester fiber having an antibacterial property and an antifungal property includes a resin composition containing an inorganic antibacterial agent and a polyester resin. The number of inorganic antibacterial agent particles existing per a unit cross section in a surface layer part is 1.3 times or more of the number of inorganic antibacterial agent particles existing per a unit cross section in the central part in an electron microscopic observation of the fiber cross section.
