PURPOSE: A composite material is provided to have both a maximum heat insulating property of a vacuum insulation panel and excellent multiple possibilities for a polyurethane foam. CONSTITUTION: A composite material comprises a polymer matrix including at least one polymer; and a granule embedded in the polymer matrix and closed to a surrounding environment, including at least one cavity in which a negative pressure with respect to a standard pressure of 1 bar(100 kPa) exists. Also, a composite material manufacturing method comprises mixing the granule and a material for manufacturing the polymer matrix and producing 'a granule-embedded polymer matrix' from the mixture.
