<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber type linear luminous body having excellent light emission balance without causing large variations in light emitting quantity by a distance from a light source while maintaining high light-emission luminance. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber type linear luminous body includes: a core layer 1 which is a rod-like body composed of a transparent resin material and has a refractive index larger than air; and a cladding layer 2 which is a sheath composed of a translucent resin material for covering the core layer 1 and has a refractive index smaller than that of the core layer 1 a refractive index larger than air, wherein an acrylic resin having a refractive index of 1.45 to 1.60 is used for the core layer 1 and a resin having a refractive index of 1.35 to 1.45 is used for the cladding layer 2. Both of the materials are selected so that a difference in refractive index between the core layer 1 and the cladding layer 2 is 0.01 to 0.15 and further the cladding layer 2 has a maximum thickness of 0.1 to 1.0 mm, a total light transmittance to visible light of 60% or more and a haze value of 20% to 90%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
