<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater that facilitates operation of a cooking container placed on a rear heating means, while capable of attaining a temporary placing space of the cooking container placed on front and rear heating means. <P>SOLUTION: A kitchen heater includes a plurality of gas heating means on a top plate having heat resistance. A rear part of the top plate is formed higher than a front part over substantially the whole width.
