<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of separating and trapping a component in gas, configured to prevent moisture in exhaust gas from being trapped by hydrophobic scavenger, to prevent a concentration tube from clogging with frozen moisture when cooled by cryofocusing during analysis, and to trap a second component separated from a first component by use of a difference in boiling point between the first and second components. <P>SOLUTION: When a second component in the gas G containing a first component and the second component flowing through trapping tubes 15, 16 is separated and trapped by scavenger therein, the first trapping tube 15 retains the first and second components, and separates the second component from the first component by use of a difference in boiling point between the first and second components.
