<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely change a playback speed in a large amount to an extent desired by a user even when a musical instrument player is the user. <P>SOLUTION: A karaoke device 10 is capable of switching between a musical instrument playing mode of allowing a performance of a musical instrument and a singing mode not corresponding to a performance of a musical instrument when playing back musical piece data and is capable of setting a playback speed at which musical piece data is played back, variable within a prescribed control width.
