The invention relates to a method for operating an electrical power supply arrangement (46), particularly in a motor vehicle. Said electrical power supply arrangement (46) has a generator (28) which is driven by a drive unit (32), particularly an internal combustion engine (32), and in which alternating voltages are induced that produce currents. These currents are conducted, by means of a rectifier (52), to at least one electrical load (38) and/or an electrical store: the torque (t) of the drive unit (32) is kept substantially constant, and the rotational speed of the drive unit (32) varies depending on a load torque on said drive unit (32) that is produced by the generator (28).
