PAGING METHOD AND DEVICE

Disclosed are a paging method and device. The method includes: acquiring indication information for indicating paging range; according to the indication information, determining a Home NodeB (HNB) able to establish a local bearer with a local gateway (LGW) that triggers paging; and sending a second paging message to the HNB so that the HNB sends a third paging message to user equipment (UE). The device includes: a Home NodeB gateway (GW), a Home NodeB (HNB) and a serving GPRS support node (SGSN). The paging method and device in the embodiments of the present invention determine, according to indication information, an HNB that can establish a local bearer with an LGW that triggers paging, then send a paging message to the determined HNB, thus avoiding that HNBs that do not support the establishment of a local bearer with the local gateway all send paging messages, and thereby also reducing the number of paging messages between the HNB, the HNB gateway and the UE, while also saving system overheads and improving system efficiency.
