Photobioreactor comprises at least partly transparent container (1) filled with a fluid (2), which contains a biomass and at least one light source (3) arranged on the container for illuminating the fluid, where the light source comprises a rod-shaped closed vessel (4), which is filled with a gas. The light source comprises at least two electromagnetic couplers (5) arranged outside the vessel at different positions of a longitudinal axis of the vessel, for exciting gas discharge by voltage, where each of the couplers comprises a wound coil which is at least partially surrounding the vessel.
