<p>The method involves determining a lateral distance (200) of a light object (210) with respect to the travel direction (130) of a vehicle (100). The light object is detected in an environment (115) of the vehicle, with a camera (110) mounted in vehicle. The presence of a structural separation (270) between the road (260) on which the vehicle travels and another road on which the light object is present, is determined. When determining the existence of structural separation between the two roads, the lateral distance is determined to be greater than threshold value. An independent claim is included for a computer program product for detecting presence of structural separation between two roads.</p> |
