An objective of the present invention is to avoid condensation on a sensor element. Provided is an air physical quantity detection device, comprising: a housing member (8), integrally provided with a connector and a connector terminal member which carry out input/output with the outside; an electronic circuit substrate (10) which is installed upon the housing member; and an air physical quantity detection element (9) which is disposed upon the electronic circuit substrate and is capable of detecting the physical quantity of air. The air physical quantity detection device is anchor attached, using a portion of the housing member, to a mounting hole which is predisposed on a portion of the primary passage through which air flows. An electronic component which configures an electronic circuit is mounted upon the electronic circuit substrate on the face opposite the face whereon the air physical quantity detection element is disposed. A communication hole is formed upon the housing member, said communication hole allowing the inner part of the primary passage to communicate with the outside. The electronic circuit substrate is installed upon the housing member such that the communication hole is separated into two parts and that the face on the side where the air physical quantity detection element is disposed faces the primary passage side.
