Disclosed are a calibration method and device for a coverage database. The method in the embodiments of the present invention includes: sending a measurement control message to a terminal in a network coverage area, the measurement control message indicating a terminal supporting the global positioning system (GPS) to carry the geographical location information about the terminal in a reported measurement report; receiving a measurement report sent by the terminal; and if the measurement report contains signal strength and geographical location information, then storing the cell signal strength and geographical location information about the terminal into a coverage database. The present solution can improve positioning accuracy and reduce calibration time and calibration costs, which is convenient for the promotion and application of the positioning technology. |
