<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meter display device which displays an object icon with enhanced visibility without requiring a large display space. <P>SOLUTION: A setting screen area 35 is provided in the center part of a dial face 31 in a speed indicator 30 which is displayed on a display panel 11. Among a plurality of icons 40 cyclically displayed, an icon 41 capable of setting a mission mode as a front screen, an icon 42 capable of setting an auto-cruise control as a current screen, and an icon 43 capable of setting an inter-vehicle distance as a rear screen are displayed side by side in the setting screen area 35. The currently selected icon 42 is arranged at the center and highlighted in contrast to the icon 41 on the front screen and the icon 43 on the rear screen.
