A method of producing coiled cores for magnetic circuits of power transformers and chokecoils having width oriented grains comprises cold rolling a strip of magnet steel in its longitudinal direction only, cutting the thus coldrolled strip into lengths to form plates equal in length to the width of the core being formed, rotating the plates 90 degrees and butt-welding them without further rolling to produce a cold-rolled magnet steel strip having a single simple orientation in the direction of its width and coiling the thus produced strip without further rolling or reduction of thickness to form a magnetic coil having simple width orientation. |
