An on-site tester for electricity usage information collection system and a testing method thereof. The on-site tester for electricity usage information collection system includes a microprocessor (1) embedded with a data processing program, a display unit (4), a power source module (6), a storage unit (2), a communication interface unit (3), and an input unit (5). The microprocessor (1) is respectively connected to the display unit (4), the power source module (6), the storage unit (2), the communication interface unit (3), and the input unit (5). The input unit (5) receives an external instruction and sends same to the microprocessor (1), the microprocessor (1) sends the external instruction to the communication interface unit (3), the communication interface unit (3) communicates with a collector and a smart meters and sends the acquired data to the microprocessor (1), and the microprocessor (1) processes the acquired data and stores and displays the data and the processing result. The on-site tester for electricity usage information collection system and the testing method thereof have advantages of being capable of rapidly finding the faults of the smart meters system, improving the running reliability and safety thereof, and so on.
