PURPOSE: A composition containing a Panax ginseng extract and a Crataegis fructus extract is provided to lighten a skin tone and to treat pigmentation with safety in human body. CONSTITUTION: A composition for improving skin condition contains a Panax ginseng extract and a Crataegis fructus extract in a weight ratio of 1:10-10:1. The composition is a food composition, a pharmaceutical composition, or a cosmetic composition. The composition is manufactured in the form of a pill, a powder, a granule, a tablet, a capsule, an external use formulation, a suppository, or a sterilized injection solution. The food composition is selected from the group consisting of a tablet, a capsule, a powder, a granule, a liquid phase, a pill, a beverage, and a tea.
