<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To radiate heat generated by a plurality of laser diodes of different wavelengths without increasing the device size. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pickup device comprises: a first laser diode that emits laser light at a first wavelength and a first holder made of metal holding the first laser diode therein; a second laser diode that emits laser light at a second wavelength and a second holder made of metal holding the second laser diode therein; an objective lens for condensing the first laser light onto a signal recording layer of a first optical disk and condensing the second laser light onto a signal recording layer of a second optical disk; an optical element for guiding the first laser light and the second laser light to the objective lens; a housing made of a resin accommodating the first and second holders to adjoin the first and second holders to each other, the objective lens and the optical element; and a first heat transfer gel that fills a first gap between the first holder and the second holder, transmits the heat generated from the first laser diode from the first holder to the second holder and transmits the heat generated from the second laser diode from the second holder to the first holder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
